Llanhilleth Colliery Appeal
We are appealing for your help in creating a display of the history of Llanhilleth Colliery.
We are especially appealing for photographs and documents, and people’s personal memories, serious or funny, grim or frivolous.
You can use this form above and bring it, or send it, to us at Llanhilleth Heritage Society, Llanhilleth Miner’s Institute, Meadow Street, Llanhilleth, Gwent, NP13 2JT, or just “Add a comment about this page” (see below) or email heritage@llanhillethinstitute.com
Even better, why not bring them along to the Heritage Centre in Llanhilleth Miners Institute, any Tuesday afternoon between 2pm and 4pm.
Photographs and documents can be scanned and returned without delay.
So, among the things we’re looking are: Photographs & documents, important dates & milestones, stories about characters who worked there, memorable incidents, industrial disputes, peoples nicknames and why if known. Any thing that will help us put together a record of the colliery.
