An unusual view of most of Llanhilleth, with Central Road and the Fields in the foreground and much of the rest of the village beyond, taken circa 1977 before Central Road was demolished to make way for the new A467 valley bypass road.

I am very interested to see a photo of Central Road. I have searched for one in the past with no success. My grandparents lived in 17 Central Road and brought up my mother and her brother and sister. I have happy memories of visiting Llanhilleth as a child and of having walks with my sister along the river to the stream that came down off the mountain. It is sad to see that there is nothing left of Central Road.
