Llanhilleth Carnival Winners
Mid 1930’s Llanhilleth Carnival winners from Hafod-y-Coed (The Rows) with their float entitled “The Gypsy Tea Room”.
Among them are Ivor Wilfred Harwood, on the back row, playing the accordion, and his daughter, Florence May Harwood, who is the first girl on the left on the bottom row.
The Harwood family lived, at the time, in 29, Hafod-y-coed, before moving to Derbyshire in the late 1930’s.
We are grateful to Wilfred’s daughter-in-law, Sandra Harwood, for providing the details.
